Today we sort out all root causes of this common issue and simple troubleshooting solutions 🛠️
Main Causes of Water Dripping & Spraying from the Cannula
📝 Improper Operation (responsible for 90% of customer complaints)
The water tank is filled above the marked water level 🚰
Strong airflow pushes liquid water into the gas pipeline, causing water to spray shortly after startup.
Turning on the machine right after tilting or moving it 🚚
During transportation, residual water in the electrolytic cell and water tank flows back into the air outlet channel and gets blown out with generated gas.
The water collection cup is not emptied for a long time 🥤
Condensed water accumulates inside the collector and flows backward into the nasal cannula once full.
Unqualified water (not 0 TDS distilled water) ❌
Minerals in tap water and mineral water form limescale that clogs the gas-water separation passages. Moisture cannot flow back to the water tank and is discharged along with gas.
🌡️ Normal Physical Condensation (only tiny water droplets, not equipment malfunction)
The SPE electrolysis process generates heat and produces high-temperature saturated water vapor ♨️. The silicone nasal cannula stays at room temperature, so vapor cools down and condenses into water droplets on the tube wall.
Droplets build up after 1–2 hours of continuous use, leading to dripping or slight spraying. This situation becomes worse in winter or air-conditioned rooms with large temperature differences ❄️.
Practical & Easy Solutions ✅
Fill water strictly within the marked scale range; place the machine upright and wait 10 minutes before powering it on after moving ⏱️
Empty the water collector every day, shake residual water out of the nasal cannula regularly, and hang the tube in a U shape to let condensed water flow back into the collector 🔄
Only use 0 TDS distilled water; mineral water and tap water are prohibited 💧
Lower the gas flow appropriately to reduce water vapor carried by airflow 🌬️
Avoid attaching the nasal cannula to cold walls or floors in winter to narrow temperature gaps and cut down condensed water
